COMPOSITE TROMBLON FOR EXPORT, late 19th century.
Brass barrel, octagonal then round and blunted at the muzzle.
Length 26.7 cm, 32.8 cm including the breech tang, muzzle diameter 7 cm.
Decorated with arabesques in relief on the top flat, the side flats, and the breech tang.
Walnut stock, all furniture in steel; steel flintlock with inlaid decoration, unsigned.
Swan-neck hammer. Steel ramrod with a nail tip.
Overall length of the weapon 62 cm.
Probably English manufacture.
Partly late 19th century, with later additions.
Good condition; the quality of the decoration on the barrel and the stock indicates manufacture for export, some minor damage and a crack in the stock.
