Ensemble d'occasion de cavalier du 7 ème hussard
This outfit was made in 1991, at a time when we hadn't yet begun our costume design business.
Our reenactor client, now over 70 years old and suffering from health problems, decided it was time to part with his outfit.
We offer a set including a colback (size 59), dolman, pelisse, breeches (holes and repairs, see photos), a rather rough sash belt (consider it a gift), a saber/sabretache and sabretache belt, and a police cap (size 59). We include faux leather overboots... passable for completing a mannequin.
The saber is not included in the price, but you can purchase it (while we have some in stock) on the website.
For a height of approximately 180 cm, a chest measurement of 120 cm, a waist measurement of 100 cm, a hip measurement of 120 cm, and a head measurement of 59 cm.
A few moth holes in the dolman and the pelisse, a little wear on the most used frogs (see photos), nothing dramatic.
The quality is not what we offer our customers, but at the time, the person who made this ensemble made an effort to document it, and the ensemble is far superior to the show/theater productions of the 90s. Note, for example, the bell buttons in the center and bulging buttons on the sides, the fabric is made of good wool, in the right colors.
Note the absence of leather lining at the bottom of the dolman, the jacket cuts are a little simplified, but the ensemble is not ridiculous; few outfits of this type are offered for sale secondhand, and the price is very attractive!
You have the information to make an informed decision. For a model or beginning reenactment, this is a good start.
