Modern flintlock pistol, Kentucky type.
The black powder Kentucky pistol appeared as early as 1750 and was the iconic pistol of the American Revolutionary War, before being supplanted by Colt revolvers with a cylinder much later. It was therefore used on various continents, particularly by pirates and privateers, from 1750 to 1850 for show.
Beautiful blackened octagonal barrel, in good overall condition.
