Paris Municipal Guard - 1st Regiment - 1808 - Grenadier Troop - Mint condition, never worn! Ancestor of the Republican Guard. Sold without bearskin

There are relatively few sources available regarding this uniform...and as is often the case, they are sometimes contradictory.

In some instances, we opted for an arbitrary choice; in others, we let our client choose, knowing that at the time, variations existed within the same regiment depending on supplier availability or the colonel's whims.

This uniform is inspired by the drawing by Girbal accompanying plate No. 33 from Hourtoulle.

This uniform was made at the request of a recently deceased client who had assembled a small museum at home with poorly documented unit uniforms, which we made especially for him, in his size. We have just purchased all of his uniforms from his heir and will gradually put them up for sale.
All the uniforms were therefore made to his measurements. For a height of approximately 175 cm, a chest size of 104 cm and a waist size of 90 cm.
The price includes: jacket with epaulettes, vest, breeches

The buttons are supposed to be marked "Paris Paid Guard," which apparently was never the case. No button of this model seems to have existed, however the one that is represented is described precisely by Fallou.

Cette tenue a été réalisée à la demande d'un client récemment décédé qui s'était constitué un mini musée chez lui avec des uniformes de corps très peu décrits, que nous avons confectionnés spécialement pour lui, à sa taille. Nous venons de racheter toutes ses tenues à son héritier et les mettrons en vente progressivement.

Toutes les tenues ont donc été réalisées à sa taille, il mesurait 1,75 m pour un tour de poitrine de 104 cm et un tour de taille de 90 cm.
Le prix comprend: habit avec épaulettes, gilet, culotte

Habit-veste blanc.
En vert: collet, parements, pattes de parements (Jouineau), grenades de retroussis découpées rouges et bords des pattes d'épaulettes verts, boutons (jaunes), 15 et 24 mm de diamètre au modèle refait spécialement.
Paire d'épaulettes rouges.
Gilet avec boutons au modèle.
Culotte à pont courte.
Guêtres noires hautes.
