Sabre briquet, made during Empire type with old scabbard
Engravings on guard and blade with inscription: "Manuf Imple du Klingenthal Coulaux Freres".
Old scabbard, sewings in bad condition.
725 mm long..
This was kind of the "Swiss Army knife" of the Empire soldier. It was used to chop wood as well as to cut up food. Although they were absolutely useless when fighting against cavalry sabres, infantrymen would nevertheless hold on to it. Complies with contemporary rules.
