In the Bible, the Ark of the Covenant containing the tablets of the Law, the Ten Commandments dictated by Yahweh to Moses.
It accompanied the Hebrew people in their conquest of the Promised Land.
In the 10th century BC, King David would have installed it in Jerusalem, the future cradle of monotheism....And since then, it has disappeared, except perhaps found by Indiana Jones, recovered by the evil Nazis, then forgotten in a US army warehouse, well, that's what Hollywood says.
