This one is number F033/200. Pictures shows another number, we soon sold another pistol 10 years ago with a differnt number and did not want to amke all pictures again.
Rare people who bought one of these pistols, could buy the other pistols of the limited serie with same number.

The Gendarmerie An IX is a small and enchanting muzzle loading pistol replica, reproducing one of the most known pistol models of the Napoleonic epoch. As it happened for the cavalry pistols, it was manufactured in pairs and was produced until the 1819 exclusively by the Imperial Manufacture in Maubeuge for a total of 32,000 pairs.

If you wear this sword you have to lay sword on an horizontal surface to take it off scabbard, otherwise you will break soon leather that is more than 100 years old.
Short (92cm including scabbard) and light (628 gr with scabbard!!!), really easy to carry...To Venezia for instance!

Le meilleur livre sur le sujet. De nombreuses images en couleur, prises pour illustrer les propos de l'auteur, montrent la couleur du ruban qui est vert et orange sur le modèle du 1er Empire, tel qu'indiqué dans le décret de création de l'ordre. La couleur jaune et verte de certains rubans de couronne de fer est due à l'action du temps et de la lumière qui a fait virer l'orange, ou au fait que le ruban a été remplacé par un ruban inapproprié. Cette question ne peut en aucun cas faire débat au vu des illustrations de cet ouvrage.
Son auteur qui était un excellent dessinateur (il a figuré au Bénézit), a terminé sa carrière comme général, il a notamment été instructeur à l'école militaire, et parmi ses élèves, a eu comme élève le général Patton, avec qui il a gardé des liens privilégiés jusqu'à sa mort.

Voilà un ouvrage qui comble une énorme lacune dans la documentation uniformologique française.
Des ouvrages existaient pour la période antérieure à la révolution, mais pour la période suivante, les sources étaient parcellaires, très dispersées et pas toujours convenablement documentées. Ce livre du vice amiral Schérer est une remarquable synthèse de documents puisés aux meilleures sources.
Notre principal regret est de ne pas avoir pu en disposer auparavant pour nos (re)créations d'uniformes de la marine du 1er Empire...Nous aurions gagné un temps précieux!

Vincent Bourgeot avait entre autres, rédigé les textes du remarquable ouvrage sur les collections du musée de l'Empéri publié il y a quelques années.

Même si son trait manque parfois de finesse, c'est donc un auteur qui ne doit pas être négligé dans une bonne bibliothèque uniformologique Napoléonienne.
