A period medal; the ribbon is vintage but of a later date (mid-20th century at the latest)—the same type used for the *Croix de Guerre* from 1914 onwards.
It is nearly identical, save for the fact that the "raspberry-colored" stripes have been replaced by red ones.
Recipients nicknamed it the "chocolate medal." Some had their medals silver-plated or even gilded; this is one of those rare examples.
In very good condition, with all details exceptionally well-preserved.

Officer's saber for general staff and general officers, used during the Third Republic, complete with sword knot.

This model was originally designed for heavy cavalry officers.
It was subsequently adopted by the general staff and general officers (see the drawings in the photographs), who occasionally took liberties with the original regulations regarding blade length, patterns, and blade types.
Generals would add stars to these sabers to denote their rank—two for a brigadier general, three for a divisional general, and so on.
The piece offered here features a blade with no specific markings and a double fuller, heavily inspired by the heavy cavalry blades used during the Empire; it combines sturdiness with a reasonable weight—though the use of sabers in combat became extremely rare after 1870. Since general staff and senior officers often purchased their own weapons from private retailers, it is not unusual for them to lack official military markings.
The grip has lost its wire wrapping and shows a small hole from a wood-boring insect; otherwise, it is in good condition. The scabbard is of a later date but is of the correct pattern.
Total length: 112 cm; blade length: 96 cm.
The piece comes with a fine parade sword knot for a senior officer, making for a very attractive, decorative set.

Labels from Jousseaume (master tailor) dated November 13, 1974, for the jacket, and October 16 of the same year for the breeches; the officer's name is inscribed on the labels.

No moth holes. Excellent overall condition; shows no signs of wear—near-mint condition.
An interesting piece for a collection, but also suitable as a military costume for the theater.
Indeed, this is a traditional-style uniform, cut in a manner entirely consistent with *Belle Époque* attire.
It would be perfect for outfitting a military character in a play by Labiche or Courteline.

Vase signed by Jacques Blin (1920–1995)

Height 16 cm, top opening diameter 8.5 cm. Excellent condition.
Originally an aviator, Jacques Blin developed a passion for ceramics and created his own technique: incised decoration, achieved by using metal oxides prior to glazing. This allowed him to achieve results reminiscent of primitive art; his works have even been described as "neo-prehistoric."

He received several awards throughout his career.
His market value has steadily risen, as his output was limited in quantity.
Several of his pieces have achieved remarkable prices on the TV show *Affaire conclue*.

Features a very fine matte-gilt finish—not well captured in the photographs—on a badge depicting hot-air balloons, measuring 15 mm in height.
This badge has never been encountered before; it may well be a unique piece.
The other badges can be attributed to the Medical Service, the Mining Corps, and, in all likelihood, the Engineering Corps.

Carabinier helmet, junior officer, Empire period.

The carabiniers were equipped with this helmet and a steel cuirass covered with a sheet of brass for the enlisted men or copper for the officers.

Our helmet is made of brass and steel, copied from a period model. Note the chin straps with their particularly finely crafted domed scales, and the bosses with a star on a radiating background.
Horsehair crest.
Some embellishments on the front plate identify this helmet as belonging to a non-commissioned officer or a junior officer.

Gold Crimped Bullion Wire - 1 mm - Pack of 75 strands

Gold crimped purl (cannetille) with a 1 mm diameter; sold in a bundle of 75 strands, each approximately 75 cm long (totaling about 50 meters and weighing 100g).

This is a vintage French product containing a substantial amount of metal.
Some strands may show slight twisting or oxidation, but this is negligible, and the overall condition is exceptional.

Sabre d'officier d'infanterie, modèle 1845/1855

Modèle qui a eu une longue existence, puisqu'il est apparu en 1845 avec fourreau cuir, est passé au fourreau acier à 2 anneaux en 1855, puis à un seul anneau en 1882, pour continuer sa carrière jusqu'à la seconde guerre mondiale. Comme il est plutôt courant, le prix n'est pas élevé, surtout sans fourreau.
On peut se permettre de l'utiliser en combat pour de l'escrime de spectacle, vu que la lame a été "étudiée pour", mais nous ne vous offrons aucune garantie, ça passe ou ça casse, mais vous n'aurez pas abimé une rareté et elle vous aura couté moins cher qu'une repro pas toujours aussi solide.

A remarkable specimen; the blade is in poor condition, but the hilt is of an unusual pattern—it is hollow, made of brass, and appears to have been constructed in two parts.
Most notably, it bears numerous inscriptions in large characters: "1814" and "IBA.v. L.N.28."

The Sutton Hoo helmet is an Anglo-Saxon helmet dating from the late 6th or early 7th century, discovered in 1939 during excavations at the Sutton Hoo archaeological site in southeastern England. It belongs to the so-called "Dark Ages," a period from which little material had been recovered prior to these 1939 excavations.
Its recovery provided valuable insight into the type of helmet worn by the warrior elites of that era.
Originally found in over 500 fragments, its reconstruction is a remarkable feat that allows us to admire the richness of headgear from this little-known period.
While many replicas of this iconic piece circulate online, we have never before held a copy of such high quality.
Note the fully chased crest and the meticulous attention paid to every detail.
This helmet is wearable, fitting sizes up to at least 59 without issue.
The display stand—which features an explanatory inscription—has unfortunately sustained a few knocks, but the helmet itself is in excellent condition; it bears a light patina, giving it the look of a genuine antique. It has been part of a private collection for over a decade. A rare find!

The Second Empire junior officer's sword has a beautiful acid-etched blade, more typical of a Second Empire or early Third Republic civil servant's sword.

Uniform of a medical officer cadet. Including jacket, red breeches, belt, AND BICORN

Several prestigious French *grandes écoles* maintain a vibrant military tradition, expressed through the wearing of uniforms—sometimes nearly identical to those worn in the second half of the 19th century. This adds greatly to the charm of the Bastille Day parades, where we see students from the École Polytechnique, Saint-Cyr, and other institutions marching in tight formation, carrying sabers or swords and wearing old-fashioned headgear—such as bicornes or plumed shakos—reminiscent of a bygone era.
Until the 1970s, students training to become military doctors wore a uniform very similar to that of the École Polytechnique. For medical students, the collar and cuffs were made of crimson velvet, with a caduceus embroidered on each side of the collar. The breeches were red. Alumni of the school nicknamed it the "Pinder" uniform (after the circus of the same name, known for its rather... flashy costumes).
This uniform was discontinued in 1971 following the merger of the Lyon and Bordeaux schools. It reappeared during the Bastille Day parade in 2026!
It is worn with a bicorne hat; we have included one here—sized for a 55.5 cm head—though it has unfortunately been exposed to the sun and is slightly faded.

Child's naval officer's uniform, made around 1900, in an antique box.

A rare small coat with epaulettes, made in the early 20th century for a child (110 cm tall; 70 cm chest; 41 cm sleeve length).
The red sections are made of leather! There are a few minor, barely noticeable holes in the wool. The price includes only the jacket and the attached epaulettes.
The final photos show the outfit "completed" with a T-shirt and trousers that are not period-accurate; we simply used whatever was at hand to give an idea of ​​how it looks when worn.

Our supplier manufactured these pieces with somewhat weak rear attachment systems.
We sell them without any guarantee of durability if used to attach belt hangers for historical reenactment purposes.
However, these accessories are perfectly suitable for outfitting a mannequin.
They will also work fine if you simply slide the leather belt through the loops.
If you intend to use these mounts for reenactment, you will need to have the rear fittings replaced with sturdier posts.
We will not accept any claims regarding the durability of these items; please consider this notice carefully.
The eagle plates were cast from extremely rare period originals.
For a belt carrying only a saber, two mounts may suffice; three are required to carry both a saber and a sabretache.

Manufacturer: Nicolas, 82 Rue des Petits Champs, Place Vendôme. Produced during the Third Republic, this is the model known as the 1852–1870 pattern.
The metal parts show oxidation, except for the anchors, which were protected by their gilding. Otherwise, the condition is impeccable.

The inventory label lists the base fabric color as "blue-grey," but to us, it appears closer to *bleu horizon*—especially given that the heathered fabric is a very fine wool cloth, reserved exclusively for officers' uniforms.

Empire Sabre for French general, vendémiaire an XII style

We began to work on this sabre 4 years ago.
It is a synthesis of what was produced for generals, in "vendemiaire an XII" style during Consulat and then Empire.
Cock is here replaced by Eagle, symbol of Empire.
Scabbard in blackened steel is adorned with nice chiselled brass accessories.
Blue and gold blade is also adorned by Imperial eagle and trophies.

Helmet for 100 gardes, second Empire.

One of the most beautiful helmets that was used in the French army.
It equipped an elite unit which was responsible for the protection of Emperor Napoleon III.
Numbers were limited.
In total, 533 non-commissioned officers and guards served in the squadron during the sixteen years of its existence, suffice to say that this original helmet is very rare...Hence the desire to make it a beautiful copy so that those who will never be able to afford a real one can complete their collection.


For a head circumference of 58 cm maximum.
We are not currently planning to make this helmet in larger head sizes, in order to keep the period proportions, but in the event that we are asked to make outfits that would require the supply of larger helmets. .the situation would have to be considered.

Thin belt for holster for Revolver, 1892 type, made by David Freres. Made more than 100 years ago, as new.

We acquired a stock from a supplier active between 1848 and the late 1950s.
These military supplies had been sitting in an attic for over 60 years.
We were delighted to discover numerous military accessories among them, including these belts for "ham-style" holsters; they were wrapped in their original paper and are in near-mint condition.
This is the elusive accessory needed to complete the "ham-style" holster for the Model 1892 revolver. While the leather neck strap is relatively easy to find, this belt is extremely rare. They were worn at navel height—over the tunic—meaning they sat at the widest part of the waist.
Although never used, they have been in storage for over a century; the metal buckles may show slight oxidation, and the leather might benefit from a softening treatment or even a touch of dye—we leave the pleasure of doing this to you, should you wish.

Summer uniform for hussar.

During Empire period, hussars sometimes had uniforms made from "nankin"—a blend of wool and cotton—which had the advantage of being far less hot than pure wool.
One of our clients wished to have such an outfit, which, despite its apparent simplicity, is richly embellished with Hungarian-style motifs.

Among the hundreds of boxes from Éts David, we found brand-new, original chin straps for enlisted men's képis—the type used at the outbreak of the war.
This is fortunate, as this is often the small part missing when one unearths a period piece, and adding these chin straps instantly enhances the item's value.
The leather is very supple. There are no markings, of course, since these items were never officially accepted into military service.

Hussar officer sabre - Adorned blade: "Tout pour l'Empereur"."Toujours au chemin de la gloire"

We found a sword of the same model in an old collection, a replica of which we are now offering. The blade was engraved: "Tout pour l'Emperereur" (instead of Empereur) on one side and "Toujous au chemin de la gloire" instead of Toujours on the other, demonstrating that even the best cutlers/engravers weren't always fond of spelling. We were quite taken with these (corrected) mottoes and the fine engravings on the guard.

We took an impression of the guard and reworked all the chiseling after casting to ensure its precision.
The fact that this model was very popular among hussar officers finally convinced us to offer a reproduction of this beautiful saber.

Sabre is one of our finest creations in several years, we are proud to offer it to you.

Attractive patinated silver appearance; 38 mm in diameter, except for the 1906 issue, which measures slightly over 39 mm.
Why offer these copies? It is essentially because of the date appearing on some of the coins: 1804, the year of the Emperor's coronation.
These coins bear witness to a country that had just broken free from British rule—a nation that was then a minor power but would soon go on to impress the world.

Set of 5 fine antique-style copies of ancient coins.

In the 1970s, a family member was living in Lebanon.
Young men would offer interested buyers coins said to come from ships that had sunk near ancient sites.
Lebanon is home to so many archaeological treasures that the story seemed plausible; moreover, the coins were beautiful and were mixed in with other, completely authentic ones.
An expert consulted recently quickly shattered the illusion... they are copies—too beautiful to be genuine.
While we may never find the real period coins, we are offering this small set to you at a modest price.
