Second hand costumes, opportunities
We did rental 12 years long, and we stopped because we don't have time enough.
We also buy sometimes second hand uniforms.
Some costumes were more adapted for movies or theater, we precise the best use of them, as much as we can.
-
Used line infantry coat.
This is not one of our own products; the stitching does not meet our standards.
It would be suitable for stage use or as a stopgap for a newcomer.
For a chest measurement of 106 cm . Total heigth:130 cm
Good condition.

Pre-owned Major General's epaulettes (convertible to Brigadier General... or even Colonel); new condition, but with traces of glue.
Epaulettes from a uniform supplied to a private museum over 10 years ago; they have never been worn, though the original supplier used a glue that has since turned brown—particularly on one of the crescent-shaped ends (see photos). The three stars indicate the rank of *général de division* (major general), but removing one star would make them suitable for a *général de brigade* (brigadier general). Removing all three stars yields a fine pair of colonel's epaulettes. Please note: this process might leave marks or small holes.
Gold embroidery on an Imperial Blue background.

Embroidered vest for a general/marshal – Discoloration
A very long time ago, the embroiderer of the day tried to remove stains from a vest he had embroidered for us by spot-cleaning it—a very bad idea.
The embroidery faded, and the yellow dye bled and spread unevenly around the pockets.
These yellow marks are barely visible when the garment is worn, as the affected areas are concealed underneath; the vest was featured in an exhibition for nearly ten years, and no one ever noticed a thing... Offered at a particularly attractive price.
Fits a chest measurement of up to 104 cm.
It is currently fitted with Marshal-rank buttons, but could just as easily serve a General if you replace them!

Hussar officer-style dolman. New.
This outfit was custom-made for a client according to his specifications and has never been worn—much like all the outfits created for this late client, who enjoyed commissioning unique pieces for the sheer pleasure of it but rarely actually wore them.
The cut is classic First Empire style, and the fabrics and trimmings match period designs... However, we have not been able to identify the specific regiment associated with this color scheme—bldrak marine and red wool with "white" buttons. Over 5,000 different uniforms were recorded during the First Empire; perhaps you will be able to link this dolman to a model that actually existed?
The waistband is lined with red leather, just as it was in the past; this feature was designed to provide lower-back support for cavalrymen during long rides.
PLEASE NOTE: The hem of the dolman reaches the navel. Since period breeches also rose to the navel, the shirt would not show between the jacket and the breeches.
For historical reenactment, you will need to wear breeches that sit higher than modern styles; if you wish to wear this jacket in everyday life, keep in mind that it is barely longer than a bolero.
Fits a chest measurement of 104 cm, a neck size of 40 cm, and an arm length (including the shoulder) of 68 cm.Discounts

Parade jacket of" capitaine aide de camp of marechal Berthier"
In their quest for originality, the Marshals of the Empire vied with one another in creativity.
Berthier, in particular, chose red for his aides-de-camp—a color rarely used otherwise (it was the color worn by the British, nicknamed "lobsters" because of this distinctive feature). The uniform reproduced here is derived (with the exception of the rank) from the one shown on pages 70 and 71 of the book *Les Trésors de l'Empéri*.

Charivari, new, in whipcord for officer with silver buttons
For someone approximately 175 cm tall.
Waist measurement (taken just above the navel): 88 cm.
Hip measurement: 105 cm.
Inseam length (crotch to hem): 77 cm.
We originally tailored these breeches for one of the Emperor's ordonnance officers; such officers sometimes wore this style of breeches for the long-distance riding the Emperor required of them. However, our current "Emperor" never sent anyone on such long journeys, and these breeches never left the closet.
It is a pity, as they were crafted from a rare whipcord fabric—a very heavy weave still used in traditional hunting circles to make virtually indestructible riding breeches.
The fabric weighs 1,400 g/m, was woven in England nearly 20 years ago, and now sells for over €150 per meter. It is navy blue—slightly lighter than the "Imperial" blue typically used for officers' coats. This is not necessarily an issue, however, as breeches were not always replaced at the same time as coats, and color variations between the upper and lower parts of the uniform were quite possible... especially on campaign.
These breeches would be suitable for an ordonnance officer, or indeed for any officer—particularly in the cavalry—wearing a coat with "white" (silver-colored) buttons.

Baudrier de commandement de maréchal pour spectacle ou marche
Our former embroiderer decided to create this baldric without our approval of his designs... And we wouldn't have approved them in their current state.
The lion and eagle have heads that don't quite conform to the standards of the First Empire, and the part that should cover the sword gusset is attached to the bandolier with Velcro that doesn't allow a sword to pass through (this can be modified). The price quoted is incomparable to a baldric made according to traditional methods, like the ones we've produced since, but, from a distance, it complements an outfit not intended for reenactment.

Set of 3 Grand Cross - Holland. Union and Reunion
We are offering a batch of these items that do not meet our quality standards.
Colors can be too bright, details not precise enough, etc.
For collecting or rigorous reenactment, they're a bit inadequate; for performance, they'll be perfect and much less expensive!
Napoleon entrusted the throne of Holland to his brother Louis.
He took his role as King of the Dutch so much to heart that he forgot who had placed him on the throne!
Napoleon dismissed him and annexed Holland to France. Louis had created an Order of the Union; Napoleon replaced it with an Order of the Reunion.
We offer an embroidered Order of the Union, a first type of the Order of the Reunion in metal, and a second type (unsuccessful, total price reflects this) in embroidery.

Shako of prince Borghese. Only one copy for sale, size 56. ORIGINAL PRICE: € 2,700
This hussar shako is a gift from the Borghese family to the Museo Napoleonico in Rome.
Prince Borghese was the second (official...) husband of Pauline, Napoleon's (very) sassy sister.
The Borghese family was extremely wealthy, hence the magnificence of this headdress, surely the most sumptuous shako of the entire First Empire period.
We remade one in size 56 to keep the proportions of the time.
It is for sale again, never worn, in mint condition.

Epaulettes troops, used till now.
The model is too wide at its outer edge to be used in reenactment during the First Empire period.
From the time of Louis Philippe, the ovoid edges of the epaulettes widened, making them perfectly suited to the Second Empire and many traditional outfits today.
Total length 17 cm, body width 6 cm, maximum width 11 cm

Officier d'ordonnance de l'Empereur. Gorgeous uniform in red colour....that never existed.
Ordinance officer outfits were green at the beginning of the Empire, some late illustrations, including some produced well after the end of the Empire, depict them as almost navy blue. In a book published by Éditions Quatuor, such an outfit is shown in red!
It is reproduced from a photo of a portrait of De Watteville, of Swiss origin, who was aide-de-camp to Marshal Lannes.
Red being the color of the Swiss, it seemed quite coherent, and what's more, we really wanted to believe it, because the result is superb.
If you want to be stopped every 2 meters for photo requests, this is the ideal outfit!
Problem! The original portrait has disappeared, burned a long time ago.
The reproduction of the painting was done after recoloring, choosing a color that is certainly very pleasant, but not the original color, and besides, on the recolored image, the ribbon of the Legion of Honor is purple.
So, avoid in re enactment, very nice for theater for instance.

Stirrups for light cavalry general officers.
Very nice copy of an original pair kept in Invalides museum.
Caution, size and width of feet were quite more narrow than now.
As these stirrups have size of an original pair, width is only 8 cm as max diametre of inner circle.
It can be too narrow for a use in re eanactment, nad proportion of cupper gives to metal a slightly pink nuance (not visible on pictures) that indicates a high proportion of copper.
So if you are heavy and appreciate to stnd up on your stirrups, forget this pair;.
For collection or decoration, there are nice pieces
