This company refused to work for the occupying forces during the Second World War...And never completely recovered, and finaly closed around end of 1950's.
We recently bought back the stock that had been stored for over 60 years and which contained embroidery, buttons, braid...and these flag points.

Each point is sold with a cylinder-shaped part ending in a rounded part which attaches to the base of the shaft.

Habituellement les épées du service de santé arborent le caducée, symbole de la médecine.

Horse riding suit for man, before WWII. Buttons of "l'Étrier de Paris"

We propose this suit, made for an horserider in 1939, indication of date and name of owner are inside a pocket.
It includes:
Jacket chest size 100 cm, waist size 88 cm. Excellent condition.
Hat, for head size 57 cm, as new.
Recommanded for a total heigth around 180 cm.
Jacket is made in a quality of wool almost impossible to find now, collar and cuffs are made in silk velvet.
Buttons were used by members of" l'étrier de Paris".
They are still made in two pieces on front, each stirrup is goldplated and attached to the smooth part.

L'Etrier de Paris is located in bois de Boulogne, in the most prestigious part of Paris, and was created in 1895.
5 generations of horseriders used this institution.

Briquet low weight, nice engravings on blade, last 1/3 of XVIII th century.

Very big and too heavy for the cavalry , this sabre was replaced by the 1908 model
Markings and various punches present! Blade is oxydized.
Scabbard suffered, wood inside of it is turning to powder and prevent blade coming down to extremity.

Sabre of revolution period. Dutch cutlass 1780 type?

This saber was exchanged to us by a customer as being a revolutionary Montmorency saber.
The reduced length of the saber, the summary mount, gives it an appearance quite close to the revolutionary productions that were extremely various.
On the other hand, the assembly of the guard branch, which is fixed to the base of the cap using a screw, is not at all in the style of French productions.
The model rather resembles Dutch boarding sabers of the same period. We found on French boats of the time, but also in infantry and cavalry, war spoils from all over Europe, even foreign blades mounted on very French hilts, or the opposite.
This saber is probably not a 100% "made in France" production, but is all the more interesting, especially for collectors on the maritime theme.
Length 820 mm, including blade 695 mm. No particular marking. Global good condition. One hilt bar is cracked, but nothing is lacking

Quite unusual type.
Handle was made during 1st Empire or restoration, as Manufacture de Versailles closed quickly after fall of Empire.
Stamps FR seems to be the one of réviseur Francisco Roatis, italian maker during napoleonic period.
His last owner supposed that it was a production for "pontonnier", bridge maker.
Totale length 64 cm, blade 50 cm, large 50 mm at beginning of blade. Opposite edge of saw is very sharp.

Sabre d'officier supérieur d'infanterie modèle 1845, sans fourreau, avec dragonne.

Beau modèle d'un sabre assez courant, mais pas avec une telle lame, qui est d'un modèle tout à fait particulier, avec sa triple gouttière, celle du centre étant parcourue par une fine ligne sur toute sa longueur. Bons marquages. Coulaux Ainé et C...ie? Manufacture de Klingenthal. 2 poinçons sont présents, dont un très clairement identifiable représentant un B surmonté d'une sorte de cuvier occupé au centre par un motif à 3 pointes, qui est le poinçon de contrôle utilisé entre 1838 et 1860 à Klingenthal. Sous réserve d'identification du poinçon pas très lisible, qui contredirait cette conclusion, le modèle est donc du second Empire
Longueur totale 101 cm dont lame 86 cm. Bel état, dans son jus.

This "collar" has never been worn and is not finished on the lining, it was used as a model to allow customers to choose from the different variations offered.
It is especially interesting to see the quality of the productions of the time, which are superb artisanal achievements, compared to the mass productions "made in Asia".

Skirt, in blue silk, separated in 2 legs attached to waist.
Each side can cover one leg...or can be used together riding as an amazon, then it looks like a skirt, clever!

Recommanded for a total heigth around cm.
Jacket is made in a quality of wool almost impossible to find now, collar and cuffs are made in silk velvet.
Buttons were used by members of" l'étrier de Paris".
They are still made in two pieces on front, each stirrup is goldplated attached to the smooth part.

L'Etrier de Paris is located in bois de Boulogne, in the most prestigious part of Paris, and was created in 1895.
5 generations of horseriders used this institution.

Les fleurs de lys sur le document ont certainement été biffées sous la révolution.

Have a look to his description:

“Gargoussier” is the French term for a ventral cartridge box. This model is perfectly documented for the New France compagnies franches de la Marine. It was used from the year 1750 to the fall of the colony to British hands. Some metropolitan French troops may had a similar model. The outside flap is made of red leather to imitate Russia leather. It is stamped in gold leaf with the French royal arms. The pouch and pocket are made in vegetal sheep leather, imported from France. The hardwood block holds 9 cartridges. This reproduction is made accordingly to period documents specifications and artefacts from Louisbourg Fortress (Cape Breton) and Fort Beausejour (New Brunswick).

Made in last third of 18 th century.
Length 95 cm. Plates move between handle and blade because of absence of leather to maintain it, but blade is perfectly assembled with grip.
Type of sword as visitors had to rent to visit palace of Versailles for instance, or to protect from outlaws.
Used till end of Empire for civilians

Nous avons mis en place des lames d'escrime moderne, donc facilement remplaçables, fabriquées en Europe, longues de cm et terminées par une pointe du type de celles utilisées sur les lames de compétition, que vous pourrez conserver, ou pas.
Chaque arme est proposée en un seul exemplaire, vous aurez le plaisir de disposer d'une pièce qui sera vraisemblablement unique en son genre, patinée, marquée par son vécu.
Nous ne les nettoyons pas, nous vous laissons le soin de le faire si vous le souhaitez.

Type used form 1889 till end of WWI.
Nice blade in excellent condition, engraved on 2 facesn especially one with "Für erinerung an meine dienstzeit", that means: "In memory of my service time".

Bonne rapière montée avec une lame d'épée d'escrime artistique de chez France Lame, élargie au talon et mouchetée.
Garde constituée d'un bol en acier, les quillons sont réalisés avec un double fer à béton, la fusée est en bois, le pommeau en acier, un cylindre en acier entoure la base de la soie.
La lame est une lame d'escrime, mais comme toute lame ancienne, nous vous la livrons sans garantie.

Cuirassier sabre, an XIII type, aout 1814

Bronze guard and blade well stamped.
Good straight blade 955 mm long, peak modified in 1816, stamps of Lobstein (1804-1821) in Klingenthal and Bick (from 1812).
On back of blade: "Mfture Rle Du Klingenthal aout 1814".
This sabre was produced during the short period of 1st restoration and then during 100 jours and later, a very interesting period when France had to suffer great events.
Scabbard is probably not the original one (price in accordance), this type of sabre was used in french cavalry during Empire period, and till second half of 19 th century.
Scabbard could be changed along time.

Épée d'officier dorée 1 er Empire/Restauration, état major ou cuirassier

Très beau clavier présentant une couronne de laurier, au centre une cuirasse, entourée d'un trophée d'armes incluant 2 casques typiques de l'état major.
Cette épée pourrait donc être attribuée à l'état major, on retrouve d'ailleurs ce modèle pour des épées d'état major sous la restauration, mais la cuirasse a été remplacée par des fleurs de, lys...ou alors la cuirasse indique une attribution à un officier de cuirassiers?
Ces modèles étant des modèles non réglementaires les 2 hypothèses sont plausibles.
La fusée a été remplacée.
Belle dorure d'origine, ciselures dans un état impeccable, bonne lame gravée!

Antiquité, pas si antique que ça, mais elle ne provient pas d'un fournisseur que nous ayons répertorié, et son propriétaire la possédait depuis quelques années, elle n'est donc pas toute neuve!
Longueur totalement étirée 39 cm. Le plus gros cylindre est en bois. La protection de l'extrémité est marquée du N impérial, de même que le coffret en bois.
Quelques poussières dans le champ de vision, mais qui n'entravent pas une vision correcte.

Typical sabre of consulat period, but used all along empire by infantry officers.

Anyway, we have no proof of the origine, salers are dead for a long time now.

This sabre was made in 1877, on 1855 type, with 2 rings on scabbard. In 1882 one ring was removed;
This type of sabre have been used till WWI and even later.

Bicorn :officer of grenadier of Impérial Guard

Made in first third of XIX th century..
Shape is exactly same as hats for officier de grenadier de la garde impériale described in best specialized books (see last picture from must have book: "Margerand: "Les coiffures de l'armé française").
Felt have the obvious aspect of a 200 years old felt, some details of confection sign a production of the beginning of XIX th century.
Condition is good, only leather is absent.
Button is OK, same for bullions. Till now, everything is OK.
But cockade is probably made from a white cockade of restoration period.
Usually theads used to make cockades durins Empire were blue, red and silver.
Here, back is white, and front has been (well) paintedin 3 colours.
Was it done during 100 jours or just modified for collection by someone who could not find this rare eand expesnsive type of hat?
As we don't know, we sell this nice hat at less than the quarter of a pure original hat certified 100 % 1st Empire.
Such a piece will find its place in a pure collection of original pieces.
We bought it in a nice collection of sabres ans swords, all perfect, that we bought recently.
Maximum height on back: 27 cm.
Maximum height on front: 20 cm.
Large: 48 cm.

3 sabres without scabbard to clean: infantry 1821, briquet an IX and cavalry (prussia?)

All 3 need a deep cleaning.
Briquet was too much polished and part of volume disappeared on handle, it is a pity because it is a rare an IX type.
On 1821 type french infantry sabre a very small part is lacking at the base of horn handle.
Last sabre was probably made around 1870 for austrian or prussian or any other small states constituing new Germany. We are not specialists of sabres from this part of the world.

Production de la maison Peignon à Nantes, fondée au milieu du XIX ème siècle, qui a fermé au début des années 2000, et qui avait la réputation de fournir de très beaux costumes.
Beaux peut être, mais soucieux de la véracité historique....C'est moins sûr!
Nous avons modifié des éléments qui étaient vraiment trop approximatifs, mais nous n'allions pas tout refaire.
Le prix est très intéressant dans la mesure où c'est un ensemble, directement portable et complet.

So balde was produced during first restoration, 2 month before 100 jours, and surely used during this period.
Old scabbard, with an old lower part in brass, old but not original and repaired in a poor way, a bit fragile for reeanactment, cleaning could be improved.

Blade is engraved on at lesat 80 % of its length, with symbols and inscriptions as St Thomas...Etc.
Pommel is chiseled with crossed canons and typical helmet of staff officers, maybe this sword belonged to a staff officer?
All guard is chiseled with baskests full of fruits (symbol of abundance)

Even better than original (and rare) pieces, that are most of the time injuried, because they have been hanged up on breasts of braves.

Épée restauration, l'abondance pourvoyant la royauté.

Après l'Empire, il faut valoriser le retour à la royauté.
Les fleurs de lys sont souvent présentées sous formes d'allégories.
Sous une couronne, un écu frappé des 3 fleurs de lys est soutenu par 2 femmes figurant l'abondance, on retrouve la fleur de lys à la base du pommeau.
Les plaquettes de nacre ont apparemment été restaurées (proprement). Bonne lame avec restes de gravure

Épée d'officier premier Empire, N caché sous la restauration et dévoilé aux 100 jours

Belle épée d'officier du 1er Empire, avec son N rayonnant.
Celui ci a été masqué lors de la 1ére restauration durant laquelle il fallait faire disparaitre toutes les traces du régime précédent.
Le N a donc été un peu aminci et recouvert par une fleur de lys.
Au retour de l'Empereur, la fleur de lys a été enlevée et le N impérial est réapparu pour quelques semaines.
Intéressant témoignage historique. Modèle peu courant à la base, et transformation peu mutilante pour l'épée, certaines ont vraiment été saccagées lors de la restauration.
Belle lame avec bleui et doré.

Après les désastres de la campagne de Russie et celle d'Allemagne, l'Empereur décide de "chausser ses bottes d'Italie".
Avec des troupes sans expériences, pratiquement sans cavalerie, souvent à un contre 5, il enchaine victoire sur victoire, il bat alternativement les deux colonnes principales de l’ennemi, les Prussiens dans la vallée de la Marne, et les Austro-Russes dans celui de la Seine. Finalement il doit capituler après la trahison, la lassitude de certains parmi ses plus proches compagnons de guerre, qui pourtant, lui devaient tout.
