Réglements établis sous Louis XIII et Louis XIV, en usage à notre époque. Règles que l'on doit observer dans les académies d'éspée...poster
Reprint of an old document, available in very limited quantities, in two formats.
These posters were often prominently displayed in fencing halls not so long ago; it's not forbidden to bring them back!
The 45 x 32 cm format is printed on beautiful, thick Canson-type paper.
The 55 x 38 cm format is printed on much more ordinary paper.
This is a code of good conduct for indoor fencing.
Some things did not change for centuries, others are very different.

In an age of gratuitous online invective and hatred, how we wish these behaviors were also applied on social media and in real life... A wonderful lesson in good manners and mutual respect.

Letter signed Gribeauval, the reformer of French artillery, to claim a decoration not delivered.
Handwritten letter (185 x 250 mm)to claim a medal awarded, but not delivered, signed Gribeauval, the famous general who "revolutionized" French artillery and played a large part in the successes of the armies of the revolution and the Empire
From 1764 to his death, Gribeauval reformed French artillery.
He developed the first complete weapon system, including armament (cannon, howitzer and mortar), and accompanying equipment (cart, ammunition box, etc.).
He organized the artillery into 4 distinct services: campaign, siege, place and coast.
Each service has weapons and tools adapted to the situation.
The manufacturing quality of the equipment adopts industrial designs: detailed sizing, plans and standardization of component parts.
He died in 1789, too early to measure the profit that France derived from it.

Document signed by the widow Muiron, wife of the officer who sacrificed himself for Bonaparte at the Pont d'Arcole
On November 15, 1796, on the Arcole bridge, while charging at the head of his troops, General Bonaparte was targeted by an Austrian.
Muiron notices this and throws himself in front of Napoleon to protect him with his body. He pays with his life for this act of courage, which could have changed history.
Having become First Consul then Emperor, Napoleon I knew what he owed to the sacrifice of his aide-de-camp. He takes care of Muiron's family.
He also named a frigate named Muiron. It was on this frigate that he returned from Egypt a few weeks before his coup d'état of 18 Brumaire.
Finally he mentions Muiron in his will, leaving a substantial sum to his family.
The document we are offering is signed Muiron, it is apparently a document attesting to the correct delivery of a sum of 100 francs to his widow, emanating from the treasury of the Legion of Honor.210,00 €
