Murat hat from painting of Gros, Louvre museum
Louvre museum asked us to make different copies of parts of uniforms of famous paintings.
We could not use aigrette feathers as they are now forbidden, other parts are similar with painting.

Field marshal or generals bicorns, bordered with ostrich feathers
Sumptuous hat worn by the highest rank of officers.
Bordered by a very special braid, topped by white ostrich feathers for general de division commandant en chef or marshall, and black for general de brigade or general de division.
Cockade is maintained by a braid or metallic bullions fixed by a golden button of field marshal or general.
Black feathers cannot be assorted with marshall buttons.

Bicorn of general officer or field marshall without feathers
For purpose of comfort and economy, generals would wear hats without feathers or without embroideries and sometimes neither of them.
The cockade can be maintained with a oak leaves' braid (worn by Lassale at Stettin, see detail of painting) or torsades (Les invalides museum).
No issues with the colour of the feather which usually helps to identify the grade "général de brigade" or "division"
If you're going to be promoted.... no need to change your feathers!

Conferatka, major Jerzmanowski style, second opus
One in size 57 on stock at discounted price.
Auction house Osenat proposed on 10th june 2012 vacation, a very nice confederatka, which belonged to major Jerzmanowski. We copied it, we just changed colour and suppressed cross inside cockade, very typically polish, but used by many dignitaries during Empire period.

Same as hat used at Eylau battle, in musée des Invalides
Cockade has the very special succession of colours of Napoleon hat: white, blue, red, and is quite smaller than all officers types.
Back width: 49 cm
Back heigth: 20,3 cm
Front heigth: 14,5 cm
Dimensions can be different of few mm according to head sizes.

We made it to replace one who belonged to the ancestor of our customer.
We made it from an old base to look like an old one. Braid, torsades and feathers are new.
Next one will be made only with new stuff.

Marshall Berthier staff officers had very specific uniforms with red jackets.
This red colour was not current during french Empire because it was the colour of most of english uniforms.

A highly prized headdress during the Empire period by some officers, it comes from a traditional Polish headdress.
We replicated a headdress stored at the Bern Museum : it is De Watteville's, an officer from a Swiss regiment in the service of the King of Prussia, made a prisoner in Iena, he defected to the Emperor's service. He would then remain a faithful servant, most notably as an aide-de-camp for Maréchal Lannes. He would die during the Russian campaign.

Shako of baron rouillard de beauval
Made from baron Rouillard de Beauval shako, kept in musée de l'Empéri.
He was chef de bataillon in flanqueurs chasseurs de la garde, it is the reason why he has bocettes wityh horns, during battle of Montmirail. Deeply injuried at the end of the battle, seeing the Emperor he shouted "vive l'Empereur" and was immediately promoted as baron (source: Vincent Bourgeot).

Mirliton was used before and during revolution in light cavalry, and was progressively replaced by shako.

Cette coiffe va subir de nombreuses évolutions pour aboutir au képi actuel. Nous vous offrons l'opportunité d'acquérir des copies de ces différentes coiffes. Certaines ont été produites par C. Colmont, d'où leur présence dans cette rubrique, d'autres ne proviennent pas forcément de sa création, c'est le cas du mirliton.

Very particular hat appreciated by polish officers, less heavy than shapska, it is also round on bottom and square on top.
Fur is astrakan in one case, fox in other one.
Indicate at the end of your order what colour you choose for cloth and embroideries, what uniform you will use with it, then we will propose you an assorted fur.

Make your musketeer's hat in 5 minutes!
Ingredients: a flexible hat, two feathers (peacock's at the moment), a needle and thread.
Stage 1: take your flexible hat (big wide-brimmed hat)
Stage 2: roll one of the edges of the hat and fix with a stitch.
Stage 3: sew feathers, then pull down(reduce) the other edge of the hat and fix with a third and last stitch.
