Drill boarding sabre, 1888, with new scabbard

  1. 299,00 €

    Out of stock

Rare cutlass used in French army to train sailors with sabres.
Peak protected by a brass extremity to avoid accidents.

An account of 1888 mentions the adoption of a drill sabre with a blunted blade delivered to a proportion of one per ten men.

Very strong, short and large (37 mm at beginning) blade.
Total length: 81 cm, blade 67 cm.

New scabbard (perfect copy!) to use in re enactment, or to expose it on your wall,
