A so-called "bedside" sword, so named because it was placed at the head of the bed to have a weapon at hand in case of attack.
The blade and lower part of the guard are a single piece. The filigree has disappeared.
The blade is heavily oxidized; the overall sword is approximately 300 years old and may show some signs of wear.
