Briquet 1816 type. Sold in one hour
A solid, 28-groove hilt of the model used from the Empire to the Restoration.
The 1816 model differs from the Empire-Specific model in small, difficult-to-identify details.
Unless you place it directly next to an Empire model to examine it inch by inch, you won't notice the difference.
The original scabbard with its very narrow trigger guard is true to the model and still very solid, worthy of use in reenactment, which is not common at all.
The whole is "in its original condition," very original, but there are no hallmarks or markings on the blade or guard.
One of the rare weapons from the First Empire, or very close to it, at a price that remains very reasonable.
Total length 730 mm, including a blade of 585 mm.
It's a bit like the "Swiss Army knife" of the Imperial soldier, used for slicing wood as well as cutting food. Although almost ineffective against cavalry sabers, the infantry were nevertheless very attached to them.
