Once alle the standard colors had been used to identify membership in a regiment. There was no hesitation in choosing colors that might look surprising nowadays for a military uniform, namely pink!

Knowing that the colors of the trumpets are reversed, this resulted in an almost whole pink uniform. At the time they didn't care about camouflage, on the contrary!
They wanted to proove to the ennemy that they were not afraid, the more visible you were, the more impressive you were.
