The large sword's origins remain a mystery to us; it is likely a strong hunting knife mounted with a blade of a type widely used on swords during the reign of Louis Philippe.
The blade is 64 cm long and slightly grey, but overall, it is very presentable.
We are adding a non-commissioned officer's sword, which no longer has a fuse but is otherwise in excellent condition, and two saber scabbards, one dating from before 1882, the other more recent.
