Eugène Leliepvre drew numerous plates that were published on demand in very limited editions.
He worked in France, of course, but he also collaborated extensively with foreign organizations, and published numerous plates featuring the troops of the New France.
His skills were not limited to the uniforms of the Empire, far from it. He also enjoyed painting women without any uniform, or even clothing at all... another facet of his talent.

Size 235 x 315 mm.
They are all printed on heavyweight drawing paper and accompanied by detailed comments on the back, in French only for the plate "Young Officer of the Carignan Regiment." Also in English and German for the other three plates!

Eugène Leliepvre was born on April 2, 1908, and died on November 17, 2013!
He painted almost until the end of his life, always handling his brush with dexterity.
From a very young age, he was passionate about military history and uniformology, especially the French army of the Ancien Régime.
In 1951, he was appointed Army Painter. His work has been awarded numerous distinctions and decorations.
