The scabbard is made of brass, with a core made of wood and covered with black leather.

Total length : 105 cm.
Blade length: 85,7 cm.
Weight : 2,126 kg.
This sabre used to equip "chasseurs à cheval", artillery gunners or lancers. Length : 105 cm.

In 1802, the Imperial Guard was equipped with a new sabre. The light cavalry sabre was a beautiful weapon made and set at the Versailles manufacture, except for the blade which was imported from the Klingenthal manufacture, as shown by the stamp engraved on the back.
