Infantry napoleonic saber briquet, with scabbard, with "bridge" to hang it
It's a bit like the "Swiss Army knife" of the Napoleonic soldier, used for everything from cutting wood to chopping food.
While virtually useless against cavalry sabers, infantrymen were nonetheless very attached to it.
Rotated cast bronze handle, steel blade, cowhide scabbard. White leather chape with tongue, and brass locket.
The grooves on the handle are of rather poor quality, and sometimes the blade has a little play in the handle... A shame, because the scabbards are better than what we've seen for years... But you're not going to fight with it. For carrying at your side, it's still better than most of the products on the market lately.
1426 g with scabbard. Length 73 cm.
