Light cavalry officer's saber, Empire/Restoration. Blued and gilded blade. Scabbard with brass fittings.
Authentic light cavalry saber.
Leather-covered grip with wire wrapping. Brass hilt.
Three-branch guard with two quillons. Overall length 100 cm, blade 87 cm with beautiful traces of blued/gilt finish.
Gilt marking at the ricasso, difficult to read, concealed by the quillons.
Scabbard covered with light attic rust, in original condition. A good example of First Empire style, meaning flat on the upper edge, the chape tapering from bottom to top, indicating good period production. Used during the Empire and until the beginning of the Restoration.
