Sabre briquet, 100 jours?, made by Manufacture de VERSAILLES. Signed B for Boutet and dated may 181?, with new scabbard.

Engravings on guard. Numerous stamps
New scabbard.
Blade with numerous inscriptions, includind "Manuf Imple du Klingenthal may181?" and stamps as B for Bick form 5 th may 1815 to march 1825.

Total length 750 mm, blade 605 mm.

This was kind of the "Swiss Army knife" of the Empire soldier. It was used to chop wood as well as to cut up food. Although they were absolutely useless when fighting against cavalry sabres, infantrymen would nevertheless hold on to it. Complies with contemporary rules.
