Sabre briquet, "Manuf Rle du Klingenthal 18??", Empire type
Blade partly erased stamps (as L for Lobstein) and back engraved "Manuf Rle du Klingenthal 18??".
Numerous engravings on guard. M for Krantz 1816-1818 and B for Bick 1815-1825. It means that this sabre was produced between 1816 and 1818
New scabbard to use in re enactments.
Total length 735 mm, blade 590 mm.
This was kind of the "Swiss Army knife" of the Empire soldier. It was used to chop wood as well as to cut up food. Although they were absolutely useless when fighting against cavalry sabres, infantrymen would nevertheless hold on to it. Complies with contemporary rules.
