Silverplated court sword, Louis XVI period. 80 % of blade engraved!
Nice court sword, length 92 cm, blade 75 cm.
Filigranee and leather have been restored, metal parts of scabbard are old, but not original, and typical of this period when sword could be hang with 2 straps or with a king of knot in metal.
Blade is engraved on at lesat 80 % of its length, with symbols and inscriptions as St Thomas...Etc.
Pommel is chiseled with crossed canons and typical helmet of staff officers, maybe this sword belonged to a staff officer?
All guard is chiseled with baskests full of fruits (symbol of abundance)
Nice piece for re enactment and collection.
